It is important to consider the space in which students are learning. Is it clean and organized? Are resources and procedures clearly marked? Do students feel a comfortable sense of ownership and responsibility for the space? Wherever they are in my classroom, I want my students to know that this is their space to use and adapt to their learning needs. Students should know where the scissors and tape are kept and that all the books in the classroom are available to them.
On this page, I showcase examples and mockups of how I can use my classroom to engage students in learning. In the slideshow, you will see various bulletin board mockups and photos of the whiteboard from actual lessons.

The photos displayed below are from the last day of my student teaching at Corner Canyon High School.
Overall a great experience, my classroom will take inspiration from that of my mentor teacher. She covered her back wall with photos of graduation announcements from her past seniors, an inspiring mural, and collected silly cardboard celebrity cutouts. Her cupboards were covered with literary themes.
The desks were divided down the middle of the room, allowing quick access to students at all ends of the room. Spaced out to accommodate quarantine regulations, the room still managed to be charming and flexible.
