Artifact 5
This artifact is an infographic depicting the three options students have for a menu option reading assignment. The graphic provides enough detail for students to know the unit is about mystery and peak their interest about each individual novel. However, it does not share all the details and encourages students to take a role in choosing which novel they want to read. They can look it up, see the word count and plot descriptions and decide which one is right for them. Even so, no student has the option to underachieve because all three of the books provide access to equally complex themes and ideas. The Woman in White receives extra credit simply because of its greater length. Students get to set their own stakes without suffering for it, as long as they read and participate throughout the unit.
